Two weeks ago I was in My Son Sanctuary - a cluster of abandoned Hindu temples locating around 40km from Hoi An - to photograph Charles & Kirsty - who flew all the way from Australia to Vietnam with their babies for their elope wedding, without any guests.
It was just me, the couple with their babies, and Leanne from Wedding Celebrant Vietnam. We found ourselves walking into the jungle at 8 in the morning, under heavy rain caused by storm Damrey which heavily hit Vietnam that morning. We arrived at the ruins after 30 minutes walking under the rain, soaked, having no choice to move the ceremony inside one of the temples that was used as a display room. It was warm, quiet inside when the couple exchange vows and rings, and you can still hear the rain and the strong cold wind blows outside - that was a very special moment for all of us, I felt honored to be part of their wedding.
I then took the couple outside for some portraits, in and out constantly during the rain. We finished at 11am, everyone was soaked and cold, but we did have a great time, I overcame a challenge for myself as well. Here's some of my favorite shots of those moment.
Congratulations to Charles and Kirsty on such a special moment, and thanks to Wedding Celebrant Vietnam for putting all of this together.
